Different packaging methods
Different needs, the same performance.
Our Proseal traysealers support different packaging methods. Which technique suits you best depends on your product, the shelf life you need and how it looks on the shelf. We’re happy to advise you on the right solution for your situation.
Seal only
A simple method where the tray is sealed airtight with film. Ideal for products where speed comes first, such as vegetables, fruit and soft fruit.
Gas flush
The air inside the pack is replaced with a gas mixture, which keeps the product fresh and slows bacterial growth. It protects colour and appearance, as with sliced meats.
Vacuum/gas
Vacuum/gas packaging gives you maximum shelf life and keeps the flavour, because there’s no oxygen. It’s often used as a preparatory step, for example before retort.
Skin verpakking
The film is drawn around the product like a second skin. It extends shelf life without gas and gives a premium presentation. Especially popular for red meat and fish.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about traysealing
Which products is traysealing suitable for?
Traysealing is suitable for a wide range of food and non-food products. Think of fresh produce such as blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes and raspberries. Many ready meals are topsealed too. On top of that, there’s meat and sliced meats, fish, dairy and bakery products such as sandwiches.
Which Proseal traysealers does Sismatec offer?
Sismatec offers a wide range of Proseal traysealers for different applications and production capacities. Proseal has a broad machine programme, including manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic traysealers. This means Sismatec can think with you about a solution that suits your product, production volume and the level of automation you want.
Is a Proseal traysealer suitable for MAP packaging?
Yes. Every traysealer in the range is suitable for Modified Atmosphere Packaging, also known as MAP. With MAP, the atmosphere inside the pack is adjusted to better support product quality and shelf life.
Which packaging methods are possible with a Proseal traysealer?
Proseal traysealers support several sealing processes, including atmospheric seal, gas flush, hermetic shrink, vacuum/gas, skin pack, Skin Plus and Skin Deep. Which method suits you best depends on the product, the shelf life you need, the presentation and the packaging requirements.
How many packs per minute can a Proseal traysealer handle?
The capacity depends on the type of Proseal traysealer and the configuration. The range offers speeds from 6 to 240 packs per minute. So a compact manual or semi-automatic machine has a different capacity than a fully automatic inline traysealer for high production volumes.
What is a Proseal traysealer?
A Proseal traysealer is a packaging machine that seals trays with film. These machines are used to pack products efficiently, reliably and hygienically. Sismatec supplies Proseal traysealers to companies that want to improve their packaging process and are looking for the right solution for their production line.
