For Jong Fruit, growing is a top sport. Continuous investment in research, data and growing techniques results in large volumes of strawberries with uniform quality, whatever the season.
The packaging of strawberries was outsourced, but Jong Fruit wanted more control over freshness and quality. That is why they wanted their own traysealer and a packaging line in which everything connects seamlessly. For Jong Fruit, this was completely new territory. They were looking for a committed partner who would think along with them.
Since 1 January 2024, Jong Fruit has handled the packaging themselves. Sismatec supplied a Proseal traysealer as the central link in the line and actively thought along from the start. Account manager Jasper guided the project and was always available. That gave Jong Fruit confidence. An efficient packaging process, perfectly matched to Jong Fruit’s strawberries. Trays can be filled up to a few millimetres above the rim and are still sealed perfectly.
A partnership that works
In the video, quality manager Jaro van Halderen talks about the packaging line. He was closely involved in the implementation: ‘With one phone call, I get the right contact person on the line straight away. Then we look at whether service can be provided remotely or whether an appointment needs to be scheduled. If the line really comes to a standstill, Sismatec is quickly on site.
Result: maximum output, minimal downtime
